The Institute for Planning, Design and Development of Brčko District of BiH has taken over the development of the regulatory plan Ficibayr in Brčko District of BiH. The area of Ficibajra is recognized as a valuable recreational area that needs to be treated as part of the cityscape.

Brčko District of BiH does not have a designed, spatially connected and organized system of recreational areas, although it has enough quality spaces, which can be connected into a significant spatial and functional unit, which is our goal here. The scope of the Plan fully belongs to the scope of the narrower urban area of Brčko, defined through the higher order plan. An important determinant of the scope of the Plan in question is the northeastern border represented by the flow of the Sava River. To the east and southeast, the area borders the settlement of Kolobara. The western and southwestern borders include the settlements of Mujkići and Gluhakovac.

The Institute for Planning, Design and Development of the Brčko District of BiH was established with the aim of ensuring the professional function of integrated spatial planning and socio-economic development of the District, as well as drafting project documentation for construction, reconstruction and maintenance of public infrastructure and facilities.

Your participation and contribution to the work, giving ideas, suggestions and proposals to the experts of the Institute is extremely important, so that the Institute recognizes the real needs and incorporates them into the reconstruction, rehabilitation and modernization of the planning area in which you live.

The current way of drafting and adopting spatial planning documents was done without sufficient transparency and necessary involvement of citizens in creating space tailored to citizens, and much more under the influence of investment desires and interests, to the detriment of planning and professional development, use and management of common space.

The spatial planning documentation of the District has so far been prepared by numerous organizations from various cities in BiH and abroad without the necessary mutual cooperation and consultation with citizens living in the area. Therefore, today we have more investor and interest urbanism, rather than urbanism based on profession, knowledge and real needs of citizens, which has left lasting and unforeseeable consequences on the design, infrastructure and other appearance and development of the District.

With the formation of the Institute, the current authorities have decided to break with the current very negative practice in the overall spatial and social planning of the District. Therefore, the Institute, as a newly established professional institution, for the first time in our city offers the opportunity to citizens, civil society organizations to participate in planning and arranging both the microspatial in which they live and the total area of the District in the most direct way through suggestions and proposals. We want to plan and build the District based on the profession and direct participation of citizens at the request and measure of citizens, and in accordance with European directives and standards in this area to plan and develop a just city, clean city, green city, city planned knowledge and expertise , the wishes and needs of its citizens, as well as an attractive and desirable city to live in.

You know that spatial planning requires an interdisciplinary approach and the necessary participation of citizens, so we especially invite all residents of the District, NGOs and especially experts from various fields to participate with their ideas and proposals in creating and drafting spatial planning documentation of the District in synergy with all the above entities find the best planning solutions and development of a better and more beautiful Brcko.

With the establishment of the Brča Institute, for the first time they get the opportunity to actively participate in the preparation of spatial planning and project documentation and take responsibility for the development and arrangement of the District according to their own needs.

The Institute is your Institution and you are always welcome with all your suggestions, ideas and suggestions for building the District as an advanced urban environment pleasant for the life of all its citizens.
